SET LIST 5.27 – ONE VOICE WORSHIP WEEKEND
This weekend was our One Voice Worship Weekend, and it was incredible. We dedicated the whole weekend to worship, and also had the honor of watching over a hundred people get water baptized. God showed up big. This wont be a weekend we will forget. Lost Get Saved – Saved Get Victory.

LIFT HIM UP
Here is a little sneak peak into the heart of one of our worship team members, Karen Spangler. She is an amazing person who has a big heart for God. She wrote this to encourgage us and whoever may read it. Take some time and check it out!

Frequently, in a worship service, we are encouraged to “lift Him up” or “lift up the Lord”. We get that expression from Jesus Himself. John 12:32 records Jesus as saying that if He is lifted up from the earth, He will draw all to Himself. But how do we do that and what impact does it have on a worship service?
Lifting Him up isn’t a physical act because Jesus can’t get any higher than he is right now…at the right hand of the Majesty on high (Hebrews 1:3). But He can be lifted up – or exalted – higher than our circumstances, higher than our thinking.
I hate to break the news to you, but there are things in life you can’t fix, you can’t control, and you can’t figure out. (Grab some oxygen if you need to…I know it’s shocking.) But, HE can…IF (if, if, if, if…) we let Him. The number one way we allow Him to get involved in our lives is by trusting His Word. The Word (faith in His Word) can fix anything!
Lifting Him up is the same as lifting up His Word – the same Word that became flesh (John 1). So, in a worship service, HOW we “lift Him up” is to verbally express gratitude for a Truth from His Word that needs to be exalted over our problem. Many times, all we have to do is grab a hold of a truth in the song that’s being sung. That may mean you stop singing and start lifting your voice in praise and thanksgiving for that Truth. (For example, in the song “Your Mercy Reigns” we sing “Your grace sustains”. Take a moment to say, “Thank you, Father, that You said that if I cast my burden on You that You would sustain me and never permit me to be moved or shaken.” ~Psalm 55:22) Believe me, you won’t offend the worship team by worshipping…even if that means you aren’t singing along for a couple of minutes because you’re taking a personal moment with THE Word.
What impact would that have on the service? John 12:32 states that the result of Him being lifted up is that He would draw all to Him. The closer we get to the Word, the closer we get to Him: Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). He – the Word who became flesh, the Word who walked on the water, the Word who opened blind eyes, the Word who overcame death, Hell and the grave – would dwell among us! Right then and there He would be “…alert and active, watching over [His] word to perform it.” (Jer. 1:12) It would not be uncommon to have miracles, healings and answers to prayer in the middle of the worship service.
He is watching over His Word to perform it; we just need to “lift Him (The Word) up”.
